Team from CB2East project – Suvi Häkämies and Evilina Lutfi from Green Net Finland and Sveta Silvennoinen-Hiisku from Finnish Water Forum – presented their experiences and thoughts on internationalization of cluster activities. In the focus were lessons learned from interactions and ways of implementing international public-private collaboration. One of the presented experiences was the BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE. Collegues from the St. Petersburg cleantech cluster – Nikolai Pitirimov from St. Petersburg House Property Owners Association and Sergei Baranov from St. Petersburg business incubator Ingria – presented the cleantech cluster’s local offering. Ragnar Ottosen from Nordic Commodities presented cluster collaboration from point of view of financing of cleantech projects.

The presented cases and issues were found relevant for St. Petersburg, thus the agenda is to establish a new initiative in St. Petersburg – URBAN ECOCLUSTER – which thematic focus is partly the same as with the already existing cluster collaboration within St. Petersburg.

Green Net Finland’s team found the event to be a very efficient networking place. It gave possibilities to have direct discussions with Dmitry Krutoy (Committee for Nature Use, Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety of St. Petersburg), Peter Normann Vangsbo (Climate-KIC Nordic), Andrej Mushkarev (Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg), Victoria Nilsson (Baltic Development Forum) and Saara Vauramo (City of Lahti).

The Cleantech clusters of  the BALTIC CLEANTECH ALLIANCE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the continuation of collaboration after the end of  the CB2East project.

As part of the resolution from the round table, was the decision to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in establishment of the St. Petersburg Ecological Cluster between St. Petersburg Committee for nature use, environmental protection and ecological safety and Green Net Finland.
