We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our organization – 3rd April 2026 marked 25 years since the signing of the founding charter of Green Net Finland!
“We, the undersigned, have founded an association called Green Net Finland, have joined as members, and have approved the attached rules.” In Vantaa, Finland, on the 3rd of April 2001.
A total of 30 representatives from organizations took part in the signing: companies, educational institutions, municipalities, and public sector actors. Today, some of these organizations are still members. Over the years, nearly 150 organizations have been members of Green Net Finland.
According to the rules, the original tasks of Green Net Finland were to plan and implement network cooperation in various areas of environmental technology, organize advisory, informational, and networking events, hold courses and other educational events as well as initiate and coordinate development projects related to the field as necessary.
Nowadays, Green Net Finland operates on very similar principles: ‘The purpose of the association is to build network cooperation between responsible environmental business actors and to initiate and coordinate development projects necessary for the field related to this purpose.’ The participants include the private sector, the public sector, as well as research, education, and development organizations. Our focus areas are sustainable and clean energy and the environment, intelligent and sustainable mobility, circular economy, and new international business and cluster cooperation.
