ERKKI – Optimising Energy Efficiency in Challenging Public Cultural and Leisure Facilities is a project which focuses on an important topic. In the Finnish cities there are sports facilities, cultural centers and other leisure use buildings, which are not technically of the latest up-to-date energy efficiency level and still they serve a lot of users and have a significant value to the community and their users. Furthermore, the amount of energy consumed is often large and thus they contribute to both economical and climate impact. ERKKI-project aims to connect the public building owners which have specific needs with the companies and the private sector which provides solutions to improve the energy efficiency. The project is run by two experienced project implementation partners: Green Net Finland and Forum Virium Helsinki.
ERKKI-project has organized an innovation contest in October-December 2024, in which companies have been encouraged to propose energy efficiency solutions. There has been eager participation in the ERKKI-innovation contest with many new innovations.
On the 3rd December ERKKI arranges a workshop and a site visit to Metropolia Univ. of Applied Sciences modern campus in Myllypuro, Helsinki. We welcome to the workshop along energy efficiency provider companies, building owners, experts and building maintenance/users. The workshop will be in Finnish language.
